Experienced boaters know what to find in high quality boats. Quality materials, high performance functions, fuel economy, durability and comfortable space are just few features that an excellent boat can offer. With such criteria, boaters need to look for the best manufacturer in the boat industry.

Princecraft is one manufacturer that built best quality fishing boats and best quality pontoons. It was initially known for its aluminum fishing boats as aluminum was the most common material that it uses for its Princecraft fishing boats. When it developed pontoon boats in later years, it uses the same materials with quality designs and craftsmanship which boater recognized. That’s why it was further established in the boating market in the next few years and developed increasing loyalty among boaters. Because of the increasing demand for its products, Princecraft has expanded and grew for the past decades into one of the popular boat manufacturer in the US.

Princecraft has evolved from manufacturer of aluminum fishing boat to popular modern deck boats. They design every boat and models that coincides with its functions. For instance, the 2008 Super Pro Special Edition Series has fishing features that include devices that feel the waters beneath. The devices guide where the fishes are and how deep they are into the water. In the extreme side, the 2008 Jon Boat series are small Princecraft fishing boats that’s lightweight enough for you to tag it along shore. It has silent feature for calm waters since it simply needs paddle. There are many more Princecraft fishing boat series in 2008, each catering different needs in fishing experiences.

Pontoon boats have its specific function as well. It caters family comfort and relaxing experience on waters. Princecraft ensures that it developed best quality pontoons with the right loading capacity, economical fuels, high performance in rough and calm waters and lightweight. It uses aluminum for maximum durability and high performance. Pontoon boat is a luxury boat appropriate for family outings and water experience for relaxation and vacations.

So you love fishing, and you want to get your own fishing boat. You’ve got a lot of choices to make, including choosing a boat. Why should you buy an aluminum boat instead of, say, a fiberglass boat?

You’ll find that you have a wealth of choices for buying boats. You can get, primarily, wooden or timber fishing boats, fiberglass boats and aluminum boats. All make fine boats, and for looks my choice is a timber fishing boat. Timber boats look great. They’re often varnished so you can see the color and grain of the timber, and are hand made usually, so they have style. A timber fishing boat is a fine looking item.

But when you’re thinking of buying a boat for fishing, it isn’t really looks that count. Of course great looks are nice, but you need a boat that’s tough, hard wearing, and long lasting, and doesn’t take up lots of your precious fishing time on maintenance.

A timber boat is high maintenance. Trust me, I’ve had quite a few. You’re always sanding timber, varnishing timber, repairing timber and lots more. Now if you’re happy to be doing that then that’s great, but recognize that’s the price you pay for a great looking timber fishing boat. And a timber boat is often heavy, and will not last well, particularly if you aren’t as diligent with your maintenance as you could be. And they puncture easily when you hit something, as I did last week.

But if you’re not an enthusiast for working on boats then timber isn’t your best choice.

What you want in a fishing boat is this. It needs to be tough. It needs to be low maintenance. It needs to be puncture resistant. It needs to last forever without spending hours working on it. It needs to be easily repairable. And it needs to be cost effective.

For me the best choice fishing boat is an aluminum fishing boat. Aluminum has properties which make it the perfect material for building fishing boats. It is very light and strong for it’s weight, and can be easily welded, so is ideal for both building and repairing. It is extremely long lasting, and is very resistant to puncture. Now of course that doesn’t mean it can’t be damaged, as it can. But you need to hit it pretty hard to do some serious damage. And if you did that to a timber or fiberglass boat it will be very seriously damaged. And an aluminum boat may just dent, rather than fracture, so you can head right back home with nothing more to show than a dent, instead of possibly be the subject of a rescue from a sinking boat.

And it lasts forever if treated right. If you get a great aluminum fishing boat and treat it well you may well find yourself leaving it to your kids.

Because aluminum boats are light for their strength they often need a smaller engine, and the engine is probably the highest cost item. A smaller engine costs less, and uses less fuel.

And with a smaller engine they are also lighter and easier to handle.

And they require little maintenance. Make sure you hose your boat down after a day out, especially in saltwater, and if you drop a lead sinker make sure you pick it up, as it’s not great to leave any other metal in contact with aluminum, otherwise you don’t need to do too much maintenance at all. More fishing time.

And because aluminum boats last so well they also retain their resale value well. I bought a used aluminum fishing boat 2 years ago and it is currently worth a little more than I paid for it.

So there’s plenty of good reasons to buy an aluminum fishing boat. Unfortunately they aren’t cheap if you want to buy a new boat, but for the same reasons I’ve mentioned above, it’s way better to buy a used aluminum boat, as a used boat is usually much cheaper than a new one, and retains it value well. I would never buy a new aluminum boat.

So grab yourself a great used aluminum fishing boat and get fishing this summer, it’s the best way to get on the water.

Nothing scares recreational and amateur boaters more than trying to drive their boat up parallel alongside a structure such as a jetty or Pier. Have you ever driven your boat too hard into a pier? If so, below are some tips that will help prevent damage to your vessel and to your ego.

The points below are useful for boaters with an outboard engine or stern drive inboard engines.

Firstly, drive your boat slow. When approaching any object on the water you should approach at the slowest speed in which your boat can still manoeuvre. If you go too slow the controls may not work, so have a few goes to find what the lowest speed your boat can do whilst still maintaining control. The slower you go the more time you will have to react to any situation that may arise so this point is vital.

Make sure everyone on board is prepared and knows what side you will be coming in on. Have ropes secured ready to tie your boat up but make sure these lines are kept onboard whilst the boat is travelling in the water so they don’t get tangled around the propeller. The tides, wind and other boat users will all effect your approach pattern so be sure to assess your options and choose the best way to proceed. You need to avoid other boat users and try to go into the wind or the current (whichever force is greater). If your boat is large and you have fenders, it is time to get them into place.

You should approach the pier at roughly a 45 degree angle. Try to maintain your speed for at least 100 feet before you reach the pier. Once you get to around two boat lengths from the pier it is time to jump into action.

Turn the controls away from the pier. This will cause the boats back end to swing in towards the pier. The initial turn does not need to be violent as even a small turn will get the back of the boat swinging in.

Once the above has started happening switch the engine into neutral and let the boats momentum push the boat alongside the pier.

Whilst you are slowly drifting in, turn the motor in so the propeller faces the pier (i.e. turn the wheel towards the Pier). This will feel back to front as to what you should be doing but it will have no impact on the direction of the boat as the engine is in neutral.

Once you are within reaching distance of the pier, switch the engine to reverse and give the engine a little throttle. If done correctly and the motors propeller is facing the pier, the reverse thrust will push in the back end of the boat to the pier. Once again, the throttle does not need to be violent. Just give the engines a short burst and then put back into neutral and the momentum should push the back end in alongside the pier.

If done correctly the entire boat should now be parallel with the pier. Make sure to tie up the boat immediately to prevent the boat drifting off again. The whole process is now complete.

The above process can be a little daunting at first although a little practice goes a long way. Try practicing against a forgiving object such as a pier with rubber guards alongside or put fenders down to lessen any impact. With a little practice you are sure to become confident with this manoeuvre.

Inflatable fishing boats mean amazing things to new fishermen all across the country. Yet they mean even more anxiety for fish.

In the old days, if you wanted to head to the best spots on the lake or where the tides converged at that exact spot on the ocean, or the bay or the river, you had to own a boat. A big expensive, gas guzzling boat.

Those days are over. And that’s because inflatable fishing boats have become the rage among avid fishermen looking to get out there affordably. In fact, as the sport of fishing (not catching) expands in much the same exponential way that golf is, the need for more and more affordable boats has become increasingly focused.

And while the entire inflatable sector of the boating industry started out as a way for the Navy to ferry torpedos from one ship to another, and while they then grew into rescue-focused mainstays, inflatable fishing boats have really come into their own.

Outstanding materials and fabrics, revolutionary new stitching abilities for seamless, powerful seams, and a dedication to durability that had never been considered in the category before, inflatable fishing boats are now allowing people to do what they have never been able to do had they not had a boat.

Really fish.

Now dads are able to take friends out onto the lake to spend some quality time talking about things they were never able to on the shore. Moms are able to take spins on calmed waters after storms.

And one of the interesting benefits about owning one of these inflatable fishing boats is the ability for the riders to feel every lap of every wave. Being in such a smaller vessel, you will experience being on the water much more naturally.

The bond between man, woman and water just is more REAL in an inflatable!

If you love to fish, if you own aprons and grilling things and stationary that tells the world that you are an angler, and you have always wanted to own a boat, then you have to look into the extraordinary delights in owning one of these inflatable fishing boats!
